TSE Entre, Turku University

The University of Turku is an internationally acknowledged, multidisciplinary scientific university located on the Southwest coast of Finland, in the vivid student city of Turku. With 21,000 students and 3,000 employees, it is one of the major universities in Finland. Turku School of Economics (TSE) is a unit of the University of Turku conducting research and education in business studies and boasting internationally renowned research groups.

TSE Entre is a research centre attached to Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku. It focuses on entrepreneurship and enterprise policy. Previously known as the Small Business Institute it started its activities in the early 1990s. TSE Entre currently employs more than a dozen full-time research staff. The overarching theme of the research activities at TSE Entre is embodied in the programme “Towards an entrepreneurial society”. The investigative focus is on the societal role and dynamics of entrepreneurship in different social, economic and cultural contexts. The research programme covers all research endeavours of the centre – both academic and applied.
